You're in control of your data. Here's how to permanently delete your KinBond account.
What you need to know
Delete your account directly from inside the KinBond app.
No app access? Email us and we’ll handle it for you.
Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Deletion includes your profile, family data, and all content.
1. Delete from inside the app
The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the KinBond app. You will need to be signed in as the account owner.
- Open the KinBond app on your phone.
- Go to Settings (the gear icon in the bottom tab bar).
- Tap Account Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Once you confirm, your account is immediately deactivated and your data enters a 30-day deletion window. You will be signed out of all devices.
If you are a family Admin, deleting your account will also delete the entire family group, including all profiles, posts, medication records, chores, calendar events, and Family Board content for every family member. Make sure other family members have what they need before you proceed.
2. Request deletion by email
If you no longer have access to the app — for example, you uninstalled it, lost your device, or cannot sign in — you can request deletion by email.
Send an email to support@kinbond.app with the following details:
- Subject line: Account Deletion Request
- The email address associated with your KinBond account
- Your full name (as it appears on the account)
- A short note confirming you want your account and all associated data deleted
We will verify your identity (we may ask you to reply from the email address registered to the account) and confirm by email once deletion is complete. You will receive a confirmation within 5 business days, and full deletion is finalised within 30 days of your request.
3. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your account information (name, email, password hash)
- Your family group, including its name, colour, and icon
- All profiles within your family (Admin, Parent, Child, Senior)
- All medication data: medication names, schedules, and dose history
- All chore data: chore details, assignments, and completion records (including any submitted photos)
- All Family Board content: posts, photos, voice memos, and comments
- All calendar events and notes
- All notification history and preferences
- All uploaded media (avatars, family photos, post images)
4. What may be retained
In limited cases, we may retain certain data after account deletion, but only where required by law or for legitimate business reasons. This includes:
- Anonymised, aggregated statistics (e.g. total number of medications logged across all users) that cannot identify you. Used only for service improvement.
- Server logs containing IP addresses or technical metadata, retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse prevention, then automatically purged.
- Records required for legal or compliance purposes (e.g. tax records, fraud prevention) — retained only as long as required by applicable law.
No retained data is used to identify, profile, or contact you after deletion.
5. Timeline
- Immediately: Your account is deactivated and you are signed out of all devices. The app will no longer let you sign in.
- Within 5 business days: If you requested deletion by email, you receive a confirmation email.
- Within 30 days: All personal data is permanently deleted from our production database and active backups.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you delete by mistake, contact us at support@kinbond.app within 7 days and we may be able to restore your account before the 30-day deletion window completes — but we cannot guarantee restoration.
